Pendant Light Placement: Islands, Tables and Beyond
Over a kitchen island, space pendants evenly with roughly 75-90cm between fixture centres, and keep the bottom of each pendant 70-80cm above the counter surface.
Over a dining table, a single larger pendant (or a linear fixture) centred over the table reads more intentional than multiple small pendants unless the table is unusually long.
In an entryway or stairwell, a single dramatic pendant can substitute for a chandelier at a lower cost, provided the ceiling height allows enough clearance below it.
Whatever the location, confirm the ceiling has a supporting point at the exact spot you want the pendant. Moving an electrical point is usually the most expensive part of a pendant installation, not the fixture itself.
